At the wheel of the Keith Bettin/Otis Friesen #34 it's Charlie Pitts from Hutchinson. Charlie came out of retirement for this one time deal. The stage, the Kansas State Fairgrounds in the late 70's.
As a kid growing up in Hutchinson, Charlie was one of my local heroes at Mohawk Speedway throughout the early to mid 60's driving car numbers 22 and some in the Haskard's 86.

Here's is a shot of the Haskard Cleaners Special owned by Pat Haskard in 1962. Pat was one of the great owners of the 60's, with drivers Charlie Pitts in the early years and then Jay Schrock for most of the 60's.
