Dick Forbrook from Morgan MN, in the Harry Torgerson Chevy.
This is the 76 Maxwell that Barry Kettering was killed in at Fairmont, Minnesota. Barry was the top sprint car driver in Minnesota at the time of his death. Harry Torgerson bought the car from Barry's wife, Rene.
I have to thank a lot of people who e-mailed me about this photo and for coming up with Dick as the driver. Especially one of the owners of Cedar Lake Speedway (who didn't leave a name) for the history of the car. Second suggestion by some to Dick was Roger Larson who apparently also drove the car in the same time era. So by some slim chance it could be Roger. Thanks everybody.

Unidentified driver of the #40. But on the outside of the #40 has been identified as #6 of Pat McKeon of Windsor Mo.

Eddie Leavitt in the bottom photo at the Western World in Phoenix in 1978.
The top photo of the #40 was taken at the Jayhawk Nationals in 77 or 78. In 1978 Lee Osborne had seat time in the #40. I have a photo of Lee going up in flames at the 1978 Knoxville Nationals. Was Lee in the #40 at Topeka or was this someone else like Eddie Leavitt or Lloyd Beckman. I beleive the #44 on a previous page was taken at the same race and Dick Sutcliffe was in it.
I received info that Ron Shuman was in the #40 at Knoxville in 77. The Jayhawk Nationals were the same week. That is probably when the top photo was taken. Could it be Ron or possibly Leland McSpadden.
